The Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) is a self-sustaining organization established in 1973 by the Colorado General Assembly. Its mission is to finance the places where people live and work. CHFA does not receive state tax dollars for its operations; instead, it finances its programs through the sale of tax-exempt bonds and other securities. The organization offers a variety of financial products including homeownership programs for low- and moderate-income Coloradans, loans for the development and preservation of affordable rental housing, and financing for businesses and other community development projects.
