Founded in 2012, Cashcloud S.A. aimed to innovate in the mobile payments sector by providing an "E-Wallet" for smartphones. The service allowed users to send and receive money, make online payments, and use NFC technology for contactless payments at points of sale. The company also offered a branded prepaid MasterCard linked to the e-wallet. Despite its initial launch and operations as a regulated E-Money Institution, the company ceased operations, had its license withdrawn in 2017, and was subsequently put into liquidation.
