Founded in 1948, Carver Federal Savings Bank serves African-American and Caribbean-American communities whose residents, businesses, and institutions had limited access to mainstream financial services. As a designated Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and a Minority Depository Institution (MDI), its mission is to provide a comprehensive range of financial services and reinvest deposits back into the communities it serves to promote local economic development. The bank is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Carver Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: CARV).
