The Bank of Ghana is the central bank of Ghana, established on March 4, 1957. Its primary mandate is to maintain stability in the general level of prices, ensure a sound financial system, and support the general economic growth of the country. Key functions include the formulation and implementation of monetary policy, issuance and management of the national currency (the Cedi), regulation and supervision of banks and other financial institutions, and acting as the banker and financial advisor to the Government of Ghana.
