Founded in 1956, American Student Assistance® (ASA) is a national non-profit organization with a mission to help students know themselves, know their options, and make informed choices to achieve their education and career goals. Originally a guarantor of federal student loans, ASA has since transitioned its focus away from loan services. Today, the organization is a leader in the career readiness movement, providing free digital tools, resources, and experiences to help young people explore potential careers, understand different postsecondary pathways, and develop financial literacy skills.
