Established in 1969 by the Government of the Republic of Zambia, Zanaco was the first-ever Zambian-owned commercial bank. It was later privatized in 2007, with Rabobank acquiring a significant stake, which was subsequently sold to other institutional investors. Today, Zanaco is a publicly listed company on the Lusaka Securities Exchange and stands as one of the largest banks in Zambia by customer base and branch network, offering comprehensive services in personal, corporate, and agricultural banking, as well as digital financial solutions.
