Founded in 2006, Tanweel PJSC was a pioneering mortgage finance company in the United Arab Emirates, specializing in Sharia-compliant home financing solutions. The company played a significant role in the UAE's real estate market before the 2008 financial crisis. Subsequently, Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) acquired a controlling stake and, by 2013, completed a full acquisition of the company. Since the acquisition, Tanweel's operations, branding, and services have been fully integrated into DIB's comprehensive suite of real estate and home finance products. It no longer operates as a separate public-facing brand.
