Skandiabanken
Information by Research Trustfinance
Founded in April 2000, Skandiabanken was the first pure-play digital bank in Norway, revolutionizing the market with no physical branches and a focus on user-friendly online services. Originally a part of the Swedish Skandia insurance group, it became an independent company, Skandiabanken ASA, and was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange in 2015. In 2017, the company rebranded to Sbanken ASA to distinguish itself from the Skandia group. In 2022, after a lengthy regulatory approval process, Sbanken was acquired by DNB Bank ASA, Norway's largest financial services group. It now continues to operate as a distinct brand and concept within DNB, offering a full suite of retail banking services, including daily banking, mortgages, savings, and investments, to its customer base.
