Information by Research Trustfinance
Seguradora Líder was a private company formed by a consortium of Brazilian insurance companies with the sole purpose of administering the mandatory national insurance for Personal Damages Caused by Motor Vehicles on Land (Seguro DPVAT). Its mission was to ensure that all victims of traffic accidents in Brazil had access to compensation. In late 2020, Brazil's National Council of Private Insurance (CNSP) decided to dissolve the consortium. As of January 1, 2021, the management and payment operations of DPVAT were transferred to a public bank, Caixa Econômica Federal, and Seguradora Líder subsequently began its liquidation process.
