R5FX Ltd, commonly known as R5, was a London-based FinTech firm founded in 2013 by Jon Vollemaere. The company's mission was to improve the trading of emerging market currencies and non-deliverable forwards (NDFs), which were historically traded in opaque, bilateral markets. R5 developed a central, interbank trading venue to increase liquidity, transparency, and efficiency in these markets. In 2017, the company was acquired by CLS Group, a leading provider of financial market infrastructure. R5's technology and team became the foundation for CLS's bilateral payment netting calculation service, CLSNet.
