Originally launched as Mylo in 2017 and later rebranded to Moka, the company was founded in Montreal, Canada, with a mission to make investing accessible to everyone, particularly millennials. Its core feature is the "round-up" system, which automatically rounds up a user's debit and credit card purchases to the nearest dollar and invests the spare change into a diversified portfolio of Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). Moka also offered socially responsible investing (SRI) options. In May 2021, Moka was acquired by the Canadian digital finance company Mogo Inc. and has since been integrated into the Mogo platform as "Mogo-Invest".
