The Microgrid Investment Accelerator (MIA) is a specialized financing facility created to scale up the use of microgrids in emerging markets. Launched as a public-private partnership, its key partners include Allotrope Partners, the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Facebook (Meta), and Microsoft. MIA's mission is to overcome investment barriers by providing concessional finance, risk mitigation, and technical assistance to microgrid developers, thereby accelerating the deployment of affordable, clean, and reliable energy solutions to underserved communities.
