LoyalCoin was launched by the Philippine-based parent company Appsolutely, Inc. with the mission to create a "New Loyalty Economy." The concept was to provide a universal rewards ecosystem where consumers could earn a single digital asset, the LYL token, from various participating merchants and then redeem or exchange these tokens freely across the network. The project conducted an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in 2017-2018 to fund its development and aimed to solve the problem of expired, unused, and non-transferable loyalty points by leveraging blockchain technology.
