Founded in 1992, Imperial Bank Limited was a Kenyan commercial bank headquartered in Nairobi. It served both individual and corporate clients, growing to operate 28 branches across Kenya and Uganda. The bank's mission was to provide personalized and innovative financial solutions. However, in October 2015, the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) placed it under the management of the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) after the discovery of a large-scale, long-running fraudulent scheme orchestrated by its senior management, which led to its collapse. Its assets and liabilities were subsequently transferred to other financial institutions.
