Huobi is a major global cryptocurrency exchange founded in China in 2013 and now headquartered in Seychelles. It provided a platform for users to trade a wide variety of digital assets. The company targeted the Malaysian market, offering its spot trading and other services, but was placed on the Securities Commission Malaysia's Investor Alert List for operating without being registered. In May 2023, the regulator took enforcement action, ordering the platform to cease all operations in Malaysia. The global entity has since rebranded from Huobi to HTX.
