Founded in 2016, Headnote was a legal technology company that developed a modern, compliant e-payments platform to help lawyers and law firms get paid faster. The service simplified invoicing and collections by accepting credit card and eCheck payments online, while also providing tools for accounts receivable tracking. In February 2021, Headnote was acquired by AffiniPay, the parent company of LawPay, a leading online payment solution for legal professionals. Following the acquisition, the Headnote platform and its users were migrated and integrated into the LawPay system.
