Founded in 2005, the Greater Newark Enterprises Corporation (GNEC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Department of Treasury. Its mission is to create economic opportunity for entrepreneurs, particularly minority and women-owned businesses, to help them grow and create jobs within their communities. GNEC achieves this by providing access to capital through various loan products and offering developmental services such as entrepreneurial training and technical assistance.
