Kaoun is a Tunisian fintech startup dedicated to promoting financial inclusion by simplifying access to financial services. Its flagship product, Flouci, is an all-in-one mobile application that allows users to open a free, full-fledged bank account and receive a payment card entirely from their smartphone. Launched in 2020, Kaoun was notably the first startup to obtain a payment institution license from the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT). Flouci's services include peer-to-peer money transfers, in-store and online merchant payments, bill payments, and mobile recharges, aiming to digitize daily transactions for the Tunisian population.
