The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is the branch of the US Federal Reserve System responsible for the Fourth District, which includes Ohio, western Pennsylvania, eastern Kentucky, and the northern panhandle of West Virginia. Established in 1914, its mission is to foster the stability, integrity, and efficiency of the nation’s monetary, financial, and payment systems to promote optimal economic performance. The Bank participates in the formulation of US monetary policy, supervises banking organizations, and provides payment and other financial services to depository institutions and the US government. It also conducts economic research to inform policy and the public.
