Established in 1958, CAFAT is a private law body entrusted with a public service mission in New Caledonia. It manages the unified social protection system (RUAMM), covering risks such as illness, maternity, disability, death, old age, and work accidents for the territory's workers. Its core mission is to collect social contributions from employers and employees and redistribute them in the form of social benefits, including family allowances, pensions, and health reimbursements.
