Akhuwat was established in 2001 by Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib with the mission of creating a poverty-free society built on the principles of compassion and equity. Its core service is providing interest-free micro-loans to the underprivileged, enabling them to start or expand small businesses and achieve financial independence. The organization operates on the Islamic concept of "Mawakhat" (brotherhood) and is funded entirely through donations. Over the years, Akhuwat has expanded its services beyond microfinance to include education, healthcare, clothing drives, and support for the transgender community, creating a holistic ecosystem for social development.
