AFA Försäkring is a Swedish insurance company owned by Sweden's labor market parties: the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv), the Swedish Trade Union Confederation (LO), and the Council for Negotiation and Co-operation (PTK). Its mission is to provide financial security for employees in the event of sickness, work injury, parental leave, or death, based on collective agreements between employers and unions. As a non-profit organization, any surplus from its insurance and asset management operations is returned to the policyholders, for example, through lower premiums. The company also actively invests in research and development projects to promote a better and safer working environment.
