The company was employee-owned and provided a comprehensive range of financial services, including wealth management, investment advice for private clients, and capital markets services for corporations. Known for its independent and entrepreneurial culture, it grew to become one of Canada's largest non-bank-owned investment dealers before it was acquired by the National Bank of Canada for approximately $333 million in 2011. Its operations and advisors were subsequently merged into National Bank Financial's wealth management division.
