Founded in 2000 as a subsidiary of the state-owned VTB Bank, VTB Insurance grew to become one of the leading players in the Russian insurance market. The company provided a full spectrum of insurance services for individuals and corporate clients, including life, health, property, and liability insurance. In late 2018, VTB Group sold its controlling stake in VTB Insurance to SOGAZ Insurance Group. Following the acquisition, the company was fully integrated into SOGAZ's operations and ceased to exist as an independent brand.
