Founded in 1996 by Adam Bold, The Mutual Fund Store was a network of independent investment advisory firms across the United States. Its mission was to provide objective, fee-based financial advice and portfolio management to individual investors, distinguishing itself from commission-based models. In 2016, the company was acquired by Financial Engines, a leading provider of workplace financial wellness services. Subsequently, in 2018, Financial Engines merged with Edelman Financial Services, creating one of the largest independent registered investment advisors in the U.S., now known as Edelman Financial Engines. The combined entity continues the mission of providing comprehensive financial planning and investment management to a broad range of clients.
