Originally chartered in 1956 as the Bay City G.M. Powertrain Federal Credit Union, the institution rebranded to Sunrise Family Credit Union to reflect its expanded field of membership. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, its mission is to serve as the primary financial institution for its members by offering a full range of personal financial services, including savings and checking accounts, loans, and digital banking. Membership is open to individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in Bay, Saginaw, or Midland counties, Michigan.
