Originally chartered in 1960 to serve the faculty and staff of Slippery Rock State College, SRU Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution. Its mission is to provide its members with a full range of personal financial services, including savings and checking accounts, loans, and credit cards, at fair and reasonable rates while maintaining long-term financial stability. As a cooperative, it returns earnings to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and improved services, rather than paying profits to outside stockholders.
