Founded in 2001, SMP Bank operated as a universal commercial bank in the Russian Federation. It offered a comprehensive suite of services including corporate and retail banking, lending, deposits, card services, and investment banking. The bank was known for its ownership by Russian businessmen Arkady and Boris Rotenberg. Following the imposition of extensive international sanctions, SMP Bank was acquired by the state-owned Promsvyazbank (PSB) in December 2022, with the full merger and rebranding completed in 2023.
