The Scottish Funding Council (SFC) is a non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government, established by the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 2005. Its primary mission is to sustain a world-leading system of further and higher education and research that enhances Scotland's intellectual, cultural, social, and economic well-being. The SFC invests approximately £2 billion of public money annually to support teaching, research, and other activities across Scotland's 26 colleges and 19 universities, ensuring access to high-quality education and fostering innovation for the benefit of the entire nation.
