Rzecznik Finansowy (Financial Ombudsman) is a Polish state entity established by law to represent and protect the interests of clients dealing with financial institutions such as banks, insurance companies, investment firms, and pension funds. Its primary mission is to provide support in disputes between consumers and these entities. The institution's key activities include conducting out-of-court dispute resolution proceedings (ADR), issuing legally significant opinions in court cases, providing legal advice, and undertaking educational initiatives to raise financial literacy among the public. It was established on October 11, 2015, succeeding the former Insurance Ombudsman (Rzecznik Ubezpieczonych) with a broader mandate covering the entire financial market.
