Founded in 1960, Bank Refah Kargaran (meaning "Workers' Welfare Bank") was established to provide banking services to the Iranian working class and manage the financial resources of the Social Security Organization (SSO). While its core mission remains to serve SSO-affiliated individuals and businesses, it has since evolved into a full-service public commercial bank offering a comprehensive range of financial products, including personal accounts, loans, corporate banking, and electronic banking services to the general public across Iran.
