Founded in 1969, the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (NRUCFC or CFC) is a member-owned, non-governmental, and nonprofit cooperative. Its mission is to provide its members with a reliable source of private capital and industry-leading financial expertise. CFC complements the credit programs of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Utilities Service by offering a range of tailored financial products, including loans, loan guarantees, and credit services, to nearly 1,000 electric cooperative members and their affiliates across the United States.
