Established in 1992 as Nottingham Credit Union, the organization expanded its service area to include all of Nottinghamshire in 2013 and Lincolnshire in 2015, adopting the trading name Notts & Lincs Credit Union. As a financial cooperative, it is owned and run by its members. The credit union's mission is to promote financial well-being within the community by offering accessible savings accounts and fair, affordable loans, operating as an ethical alternative to traditional banks and high-cost lenders. All deposits are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
