Originally chartered in 1952 to serve the employees of the Champion Paper and Fibre Company, Mountain Credit Union has grown into a community-chartered financial institution. As a not-for-profit cooperative, it is owned and operated by its members. The credit union's mission is to be the preferred financial institution for its members by providing quality financial services, including savings and checking accounts, personal loans, mortgages, and investment services, to communities across Western North Carolina.
