Founded in 2015 in Riga, Latvia, Mintos began as a peer-to-peer lending marketplace connecting investors with borrowers through a network of loan originating companies. In 2021, the company transitioned into a fully regulated investment firm, licensed and supervised by Latvijas Banka (the central bank of Latvia). Its primary service now allows investors to buy fractional shares in bundles of loans, which are packaged as asset-backed securities known as Notes. Mintos' mission is to make investing in loans and alternative assets accessible, transparent, and easy for the average retail investor.
