Originally established in 1934 to serve Meijer team members, Meijer Credit Union has since expanded its charter to serve anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in the state of Michigan. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, its mission is to be "big-hearted" and provide a range of personal banking services, including savings and checking accounts, auto loans, mortgages, and credit cards. Unlike a traditional bank, its profits are returned to its members in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and fewer fees.
