Established in 1970 as NTUC Income, the company was founded with the social purpose of making essential insurance accessible to all Singaporeans. On September 1, 2022, the entity was corporatised from a co-operative (NTUC Income Insurance Co-operative Limited) to a company (Income Insurance Limited) to enhance its operational flexibility and long-term competitiveness. It remains one of Singapore's largest and most prominent insurance providers.
