Originally established as the Salida Building and Loan Association in 1886, High Country Bank grew to become a key community financial institution in central Colorado. It operated as a full-service bank offering personal and business banking products, including checking and savings accounts, CDs, and various types of loans such as commercial, real estate, construction, and consumer loans. In October 2018, High Country Bancorp, Inc. and its subsidiary, High Country Bank, were officially acquired by First Western Financial, Inc., the parent company of First Western Trust Bank. All High Country Bank branches were subsequently converted to First Western Trust Bank locations.
