Founded in 1965, Heritage Education Funds Inc. was one of Canada's leading providers of group Registered Education Savings Plans (RESPs). For over 50 years, the company's mission was to help families finance the cost of post-secondary education for their children through disciplined savings and investment. In November 2018, Heritage Education Funds was acquired by Knowledge First Financial, another major RESP provider. The acquisition aimed to create a larger, more sustainable organization for all plan holders, with the combined entity managing approximately $6.2 billion in assets for over 500,000 Canadians. All existing Heritage plans are now managed by Knowledge First Financial, and the Heritage brand is no longer used for new plans.
