In 2013, Heartwood was acquired by the UK subsidiary of the Swedish bank, Svenska Handelsbanken AB. It continued to operate under the Heartwood brand until 2020, when it was fully integrated and rebranded as Handelsbanken Wealth & Asset Management, combining its operations with the bank's existing wealth management services to offer a unified proposition in the UK.
