Its core mission is to manage the operational integrity of the Global LEI System, which provides a universal standard for identifying legal entities. GLEIF ensures the availability of the global LEI repository, a free and open public data source that connects entities to their unique LEI codes, thereby enhancing transparency and helping to manage counterparty risk in global financial markets.
