Established in 1983, the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) is a quasi-independent state agency dedicated to supporting business and higher education in Maine. FAME's mission is to help Maine people and businesses pursue their educational and business aspirations by providing a range of financial products and services. These include administering student loan programs, offering commercial loans and loan insurance to businesses, and providing financial education to the public. FAME works in partnership with lenders, businesses, and educational institutions to foster economic and educational opportunities throughout the state.
