Ethical Trading Initiative
Information by Research Trustfinance
Founded in 1998, the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) is a global, tripartite alliance dedicated to improving working conditions in global supply chains. It brings together companies, trade unions, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to collectively tackle complex issues that cannot be solved by individual entities alone. ETI's mission is to advance respect for workers' rights worldwide by developing best practices, providing critical tools and resources, and influencing policy. Its core framework is the ETI Base Code, which is an internationally recognised set of labour standards based on ILO conventions.
