Founded in 1965, Coopeservidores R.L. (Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito de los Servidores Públicos) operated as one of Costa Rica's largest and most significant savings and credit cooperatives. Its mission was to promote the financial well-being of its members, primarily public servants and later expanding to the general public, through a range of products including savings accounts, various types of loans, credit cards, and investments. As a cooperative, it was owned and managed by its members. However, in mid-2024, the entity was placed under regulatory intervention due to severe financial and administrative irregularities.
