Founded in 1975, the Cooperative Fund of the Northeast (CFNE) is a U.S. Treasury-certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). Its mission is to foster a socially just, ecologically sound, and democratic economy by providing flexible financing and technical assistance to cooperatives and community-based enterprises. CFNE pools investments from individuals, co-ops, and foundations to make loans to businesses that create jobs, provide essential services, and build community wealth.
