Information by Research TrustFinance
Originally established as the Burnley Building Society in 1862, Burnley Savings and Loans Limited operated as a traditional mutual financial institution in the United Kingdom. Its core business was to provide savings accounts for members and to offer mortgage loans for purchasing property, primarily serving the community in and around Burnley, Lancashire. After more than a century of service, the society merged with the Marsden Building Society in 1982. All of its assets, operations, and branches were absorbed into the Marsden, and the Burnley Building Society brand was discontinued. The legal entity was officially dissolved following the merger.
