Founded by Dr. Ramesh Bellamkonda in 1997, BSS Microfinance Limited (formerly known as Bharatiya Samruddhi Finance Limited) operates with a mission to provide cost-effective and responsible financial services to the poor and low-income households, particularly women. The company focuses on promoting financial inclusion and empowering its members to become economically self-sufficient. In 2017, BSS Microfinance was acquired by and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kotak Mahindra Bank, one of India's leading private sector banks, which has further strengthened its operational and financial capabilities.
