Brain Array is an academic research project operating within the Molecular & Behavioral Neuroscience Institute (MBNI) at the University of Michigan Medical School. Its mission is to provide the scientific community with free, up-to-date, and comprehensive annotation and analysis resources for high-throughput genomic data, primarily focusing on Affymetrix microarrays. They create custom Chip Definition Files (CDFs) and other tools that offer more accurate and extensive gene and transcript-level analysis than standard manufacturer-provided files.
