Founded in 1908, Bank of Communications (BOCOM) is one of the oldest banks in modern Chinese history and one of the initial note-issuing banks in the country. Headquartered in Shanghai, it was re-established in 1987 and became the first nationwide state-owned joint-stock commercial bank in China. The bank operates a "Development Strategy of Building a First-Class Banking Group with International Competitiveness and Wealth Management as its Characteristics" and provides a wide array of financial products and services, including commercial banking, securities, trust, financial leasing, fund management, insurance, and offshore financial services to both individual and corporate clients.
