Bó
Information by Research Trustfinance
Bó was a standalone digital bank launched by NatWest Group (then The Royal Bank of Scotland Group) in November 2019. Positioned as a direct competitor to challenger banks like Monzo and Starling, its primary mission was to help people improve their financial habits through tools for spending analysis, goal setting, and budgeting. The service featured a distinctive bright yellow Visa debit card and a mobile-only banking experience. Despite its ambitions, Bó struggled to gain traction and was shut down by NatWest in May 2020, with the bank deciding to integrate its technology and learnings into its other digital offerings, particularly its business-focused Mettle app.
